16th October 2011 – Harvest
Matthew 9:35-38
This Week:
Harvest: We are supporting Tools With A Mission as part of our Harvest Service this year. Please could you provide old and broken tools (see the list on the notice board) which will be reconditioned by the charity and sent to provide work and an income to people in disadvantaged areas.
Guides Tea Party: The Guides are holding a 60’s style tea party in aid of Epilepsy Action on Tuesday 18th October from 6.30pm to 8pm. Entry is £1 and refreshments will be for sale – see Valery for more details.
Know It, Love It, Live It: Our mid-week series on the Bible continues on Thursday at 7.30pm. If you would like to know more, please speak to Justin.
Dancing: We have a Line Dancing evening on Saturday (22nd October), which will be a great chance to put your glad rags on and let your hair down – please support this evening as it will only work if people turn up! If you need more details or tickets, speak to Mary.
Prayers:
Pray for our Iranian community here at St Paul’s as we do a Farsi Alpha course together and as we support them in their bid to stay in the country.
For those who have asked for our prayers: Ken Hillman; Andy Watson; Tony and Val; Jenny; Norman Sully.
Also continue to pray for those who are part of St Paul’s but are unable to come to church for varying reasons – Cynthia Bevington; Mary Lewis; Ken Hillman; Jean Hughes.
Notices:
Night Shelter: Please feel free to make financial donations. Please put your donation in an envelope and mark it “Night Shelter”. All volunteers(new and existing) need to be trained. Training sessions are on November 14th, 16th and 18th – speak to Valery or Stuart for further details.
Farsi Bibles: We have bought some Farsi Bibles for our Iranian friends to use as they take part in the Alpha Course. If you would like to sponsor a Bible to help towards the cost of £15 per Bible, please put your donation in an envelope and mark it “Farsi Bibles”.
Half Term: Next week (21st to 31st Oct) is half term. The Cafe will be shut and will re-open on Tuesday 1st November. Also there will be no morning prayer throughout the week and will be back on Tuesday 1st November. The Toddlers will continue to meet on Thursday 27th October.
