P.C.C.: There is a P.C.C. meeting this Tuesday, 7.30pm at the Vicarage.

Praying for Cameroon: Come and join Christians across the world as we share in the annual Women’s World Day of Prayer service on Friday March 5 at 2pm in St Gabriel’s RC church in Ringland. The service was written by Christian women in Cameroon on the theme “Let everything that has breath praise God”.

Lent Visitations: The Bishop has asked all Clergy to visit their congregants during Lent. All the information you need is in the letter from Justin at the back of church. Please make sure you sign up for a half hour slot in the folder which can also be found at the back of church.

Car Park: There is building work going on in the balcony until the end of February. DO NOT park around the back, as the car park is even more chaotic than normal.

Afternoon Services: We shall be having an afternoon Eucharist Service on All Age Worship Sundays. The next service will be next Sunday at 4pm.

Confirmation: The Bishop of Monmouth is coming to St Paul’s on June 13th for a confirmation service. If would like to know more about being confirmed, please speak to Justin or Kaf a.s.a.p.

Alpha: We are hoping to start another alpha course after Easter (dates and details out soon) – if you would like to know more about Alpha or if you are interested in joining the course please speak to Kaf.

Electoral Roll: It’s that time of year again, however this year we will all need to renew our membership. This process is vital as we are not able to vote or stand on the P.C.C. without it, and as a result would not be able to have a say in what happens in St Paul’s. Something else to bear in mind – Andrea will have to stand down this year having been warden for 6 years, so a new People’s Warden will need to be elected. Anybody who has already filled in an Electoral Roll form this year (2010) will not need to repeat the form.

spinprayers

During Lent we will be praying “The Big Prayer” Hope you can pray it with us. It’s a simple prayer inspired by Zechariah 4:6.

Heavenly Father
You are good and your love endures forever, and because of your grace and mercy, we ask that you would pour out your Holy Spirit afresh on us. Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on us, melt us, mould us, fill us, use us. For the honour of Your Name and the sake of your Kingdom here in Newport, let your will be done. In the mighty and wonderful name of Jesus. Amen

Please also continue to pray for the worship and mission of our church, including the following:

Night Shelter - Please pray for wisdom and grace in a meeting which is taking place with Newport Councillors to discuss the future of the Night Shelter in the long term this week.

For those who have asked for our prayers – Louis Hayter; Helen Thomas; Peter and Susan Langford; Josh Skinner; Joan and Dennis; Diana; and Ron Kelly.
Also continue to pray for those who are part of St Paul’s but are unable to come to church for varying reasons – Elsie Tyrrell; Cynthia Bevington; Terry Cousins; Eva Smart; Mary Lewis; Ken Hillman.
